The XVI ISA World Congress of Sociology is to
be held in Durban, South Africa 23-29 July 2006. RC 25 expects
to produce a full programme of sessions dealing with the full
range of sociolinguistic topics.
Potential participants are urged to express their
interest in organizing a session or in volunteering a paper at
the earliest possible date. In order to comply with ISA deadlines,
RC 25 has set the following deadlines:

activities at the World Congress should be directed to Bob Herbert
(warthog@sfasu.edu),
who serves as the Programme Coordinator. All participants must
be members in good standing of RC 25 and must register for the
World Congress.
October 15, 2004
- Sociolinguists who want to organize a themed session for the
Durban program should communicate with the Programme Coordinator
by this date. Proposed sessions will be included in the eventual
Call for Papers.
January 15, 2005
– Call for Papers issued by RC25 and ISA.
October 30, 2005
- Abstracts for volunteered papers should be submitted electronically
to either the session organizer (for an announced session) or
to the Programme Coordinator.
March 31, 2006
- Deadline for electronic submission of abstracts of accepted
papers to ISA.
May 31, 2006
- Pre-registration deadline for all programme participants. Registration
