Job Description:
The Department of Linguistics at
the University of Michigan invites applications for a one-year
Visiting Assistant Professor/Lecturer position in sociolinguistics
beginning September 1, 2006.
We encourage applications from
specialists in any area of sociolinguistics. A secondary
specialization that combines sociolinguistics with another area of
the discipline (e.g., phonetics, psycholinguistics, language
acquisition, syntax) is desirable, but not required. Teaching
responsibilities include introductory sociolinguistics, language and
social conflict, and courses in area of specialization. Applicants
should have completed the Ph.D. by the time of the appointment.
A letter of application providing
details of research interests and teaching experience, a CV, one
representative publication, and three letters of recommendation
